  • Up and Running

Well, it's bank holiday Monday.... slept terribly for some reason. Today was the day for getting back to running. I ran the marathon four years ago but have got so out of shape in the past two years it's ridiculous. I hate my body when I look in the mirror. I'm tall so nobody really notices it but it affects your confidence and the way you feel about yourself. Anyway, after procrastinating for a couple of hours (by cleaning out the junk from under my bed) I set off bambi-like on my first outdoor run since god knows when. It was barely speedier than a fast walk, but the sun was shining and my ipod was pumping the tunes and ity didn't matter if people were looking at me and laughing! I ran down by the river and it really was beautiful. Came home, took a shower, and have been lying on my bed ever since...:zz:

My Australian boy may be paying me a flying visit for dinner this evening - he gets back from France at 5pm and starts his new job tomorrow in London, but still wants to come to Cambridge tonight to say hi. Sounds promising...

  • First Blog

Well here's my first blog. What does blog mean? Hang on.... *checks def on wikipedia*... web & log together... god I'm dumb for a teacher! Anyway, always fancied writing a book but too daunted by the vastness of the task. This way I can write but there's no pressure. If I quit tomorrow it won't matter. I'm a bit like that.

So, just to introduce myself: I'm 33, living in Cambridge in the UK, gay, been a primary school teacher for 2 years nearly. Past careers include fitness instructor, health club manager and actor! Still hanker after going back to the acting and living in London again (did so for 8 yrs) but haven't plucked up the courage to try again. And I just bought a flat here in Cambridge so seems crazy to up and leave it so soon. And I want kids at some point but that's a whole other story.

Anyway, I'm not gonna waffle on for ages on these blogs... short and sweet I think will be the best way. I'm half way through my Easter vacation and just begining to feel chilled out. It pisses me off that teaching's so stressful that you waste half your holiday 'getting back to normal' before you can enjoy yourself. Guess other professions are just as bad tho. I'm really enjoying having no plans and spending time doing what I damn well want to!! The thought of going back to school for a 14 week term fills me with... well, let's not think about that now!

Oh, by the way (to end on a cliff hanger..) I met a boy last week... cute, Australian, and he seems to like me :D We are sending texts every day and I'm gonna see him on Wednesday. He lives in London... but love will conquer all!!! LOL
